Scooter is a very special rescue Boston being cared for by MidWest Boston Terrier Rescue. Scooter was born with a disability. He has a curved spine and two permanently bent front legs. The front part of Scooter's front legs bend up at the elbow, as if he is in a "play bow". But that doesn't slow Scooter down! He walks on his elbows & hops like a bunny and can really "CRUISE"! He is very loving and great with kids. Scooter has an adorable white face, ear spots & one blue eye.

He was given up to Animal Control by his original owner and was not doing well in the shelter. A very kind person from the shelter took him in, helped bring him back to health and fostered him until she found MWBTR. Since entering the MWBTR program Scooter has been living in a foster home with a crew of adopted Boston Terriers. He was doing well and enjoying life & adventures with his foster family until a forever home could be found for him. His foster family was generous enough to share his photos & adventures on the Boston Terrier WoofBoard message board where he quickly became a much loved star.

A few days ago Scooter injured his back and is in need of medical care. MWBTR and Scooter's foster family & friends have all been scrambling to find out what Scooter needs and the best way to help him recover & heal from his injury. MWBTR needs to raise funds for Scooter's medical care. Scooter is improving. He needed an MRI to determine what his injury was. He has 2 ruptured discs on his spine. He is receiving steroid therapy as well as accupuncture and magnetic therapy. He is taking supplements to hep increase his neuro activity and provide more anti-inflammatory relief. He has begun moving and tried to walk today!!!

He is on strict bed rest and his foster family is taking him on stroller walks around the neighborhood. This is cheering Scooter up considerably! Here are some photos of Scooter in his stroller.

That's right! Scooter is getting a front wheel chair from Eddie's Wheels - who has generously offered to help keep the cost of the chair down for Scooter.

We are is extending the LittleBeasts fundraiser for Scooter to help cover the costs of Scooter's new wheels!!!
